Learning songs and new techniques

Learning how to play songs on the guitar is really fun! It can be so satisfying once you can get your fingers round a tricky riff or chord progression. 

​

However sometimes the song you're learning is just too fast and you can't quite reach that C chord in time to that Coldplay song. 

​

To assist with this I use a speed training software called 'Amazing Slow Downer', that can slow down / speed up/ loop /change the pitch of a track, making it alot easier to play along to a song you are learning.

It's often best to start slow, and gradually build your speed up to ensure accuracy.

​

There are other softwares available that do this kind of thing for instance; Audacity (free!), Transcribe, Logic Pro, Garageband are all capable of slowing down songs. There are also several free apps available on smart phones that can carry out these tasks. If you are unable to get hold of these speed training softwares then I can burn a copy of the song onto a CD for you at different tempos on request. So for example:

• Track 1: Full speed

• Track 2: 25% slower

• Track 3: 50% slower

• Track 4: 75% Slower
